Cabinet Care

Cabinets are manufactured to withstand everyday wear and tear. There is nothing special that you have to take care of or maintain, but there are some cleaning tips to keep your cabinets in pristine shape! We understand that surface damage may occur; please refrain from tampering with the damage and contact Signature Cabinet Studio as soon as possible. Please remember that wood is a natural resource, embrace your beautiful & unique cabinet finishes!

These recommendations are provided by each of signature cabinet studio’s cabinet manufacturers to maintain your cabinetry warranty. We have gathered the information and provided it for your convenience and knowledge.

Recommended

Signature Cabinet Studio highly recommends to follow these guidelines to maintain the warranty on your cabinets.

  1. Using a clean, lint-free microfiber cloth, cloth diapers, or terry cloth that are free of any loose fibers or hairs.

  2. Only use mild soap, warm water, and a recommended cloth to clean cabinets. Wring out extra water in your cloth to create a damp cloth.

  3. Clean up any spills or excessive moisture immediately.

  4. Dust with a slightly damp cloth; a dry cloth can scratch the cabinet surface.

  5. Keep your home interior temperature between 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit and stable humidity between 30-55% year round.

Not Recommended

Please be aware that the cabinet manufacturer will void cabinet warranty if the cabinetry has been exposed to tobacco smoke or any smoke sources for an extended period of time.

  1. The use of any furniture polish/cleaner, bleach, ammonia, powdered cleaners, or abrasive additives like petroleum solvents.

    1. Avoid silicones, waxes, and polishes. These seep into the wood and can compromise your cabinet finish.

  2. Do not use scouring pads, steel wool, abrasive cloths, brushes, pads/sponges, or dirty cloths.

  3. Tampering with existing surface damage without professional recommendations.

  4. let excess water sit on wood surfaces.

Other Useful Information

Drawers and Hinges should not need any maintenance including lubrication for your glides or hinges.

If you have cabinetry that has a finished horizontal surface, please read the following:

  • Do not slide items across the finished surface, pick them up and set them down.

  • Ensure any pots for plants do not spill over onto surface, plant leaves are away from cabinetry.

  • Use coasters & hot pads for glassware & cookware.

  • Synthetic materials such as rubber should not be set directly on the surface. The chemicals can seep into the wood and compromise the finish.

  • Printed materials can transfer the ink into the finish.

  • Follow the standard guidelines from above.

Cabinet care is almost maintenance free. If you have an issue with your cabinetry, please contact us immediately; please do not try and repair this on your own. We will provide assistance you with any questions or concerns that you have.
